In mediations regarding finance and property, you can use the process to provide a full disclosure of your finances. This  will enable you to have discussions regarding matters such as what will happen to a jointly owned property, other assets, pensions , liabilities and debts. 

The mediator can help you clarify the issues that need to be resolved, explore options and reality test proposals. The aim at the end of the process is that you both have a set of proposals that can form the basis of a financial consent order through the court.

We will provide you with a written summary of the agreements made in mediation as well as an open financial statement. Mediators provide information and work within the shadow of the law so that you have a good understanding of what you need to consider when reaching a financial settlement.

Mediations typically last for 1.5 to 2 hours and you may need between two and four mediations, depending on your individual circumstances
